#19 - Varmint Trapping

#19 - Varmint Trapping

A short description of Varmint Trapping, or Wildlife Control is resolving a wildlife complaint, and prevent future occurring.

Starting a Varmint Trapping business can be difficult, and depending on the laws in your state, you will need to obtain a license and insurance to use any poisons or pesticides. Along with that, it would be good to get some training or schooling to back you up. After you have all of that in order, next would be to get all of the gear that you may need.

Lets say for mice, rats, or any small varmints, you will need mouse traps, sticky traps, poison (make sure they don't have any cats that might eat the dead poisoned mouse...wouldn't be good). And for larger animals you will want to look at the big caged live traps, so you can let them go later on without harming them. I wouldn't recommend foot traps or anything that will harm the animal. If you catch the wrong animal, or even the home owner..you will be facing some legal trouble!

Start out small, and work your way up! With the right education and training, along with a good business plan..you will do just fine!

#18 - Ad Writing

Have you been on Craigslist latley and saw poor ad titles that just don't want to make you click on them? Most people are just putting something up quickly so they can hurry up and sell their item or service. An ad title, and the content will have a major effect on how many people will look at your ad. Pictures are also a big plus, as I know when I search Craigslist for something, if it doesn't have a picture, I don't click on it!

Maybe its time you contacted a few of these sellers or business's, and offered them your service of re-writing their ads for a small fee. Tell them they can expect to see results, get more emails or phone calls, and more business. Every little penny counts, you could charge them whatever fee you wish, but a reasonable fee would be around ten bucks I think, depending on what they are selling or advertising. The price can go up or down, really depends on the product. You can also do this on Ebay as well. Give this one a try, then leave a comment and tell me how its going. I would really like to hear if anyone is trying any of these business ideas. Its going to be a long way to 1000, so if you have any ideas or want to write an article, be sure to contact me.

#17 - Write an Ebook

If you have a knack for marketing, and are a good writer, then maybe an Ebook would be something for you! An Ebook might seem like a heavy task to take on, but if you are patient, and enjoy writing, then this is a major money maker! We will go through a short list from writing the ebook, to marketing that you should follow.

        1) Write your Ebook - Your ebook can be about anything, but your best bet is to write about something you know, and love.

       2) Edit, Revise - Be sure to look over your draft and find any spelling errors or parts that may not make sense. Might even be a good idea to hire a professional editor just for the piece of mind.

       3) Market your Ebook - Sell you eBook online. Best to start with Amazon!

There is alot more to it than that. You really have to get out there and market your ebook. Might also be a good idea to price it low, maybe below ten dollars so more people would want to buy it. Just think if 20 people bought your book for ten dollars. The money would rack up quick just for one ebook! Good luck!

#16 - Babysitter

Babysitting for extra cash is a good job for a stay at home wife, or in some cases..a stay a home dad! Childcare is in demand everywhere, and with everyone working nowadays, someone needs to watch the kids while they are away.

Look around in the newspaper or ask family and friends if they know anybody looking for childcare. If you  really want to turn it into a business, then you might want to search for options on making your business an LLC or a Corp. In  some states, you might even need a license, and or a background check before starting your business.

How much do you pay for childcare?

#15 - Newspaper Routes

#15 - Newspaper Routes

Newspaper routes is always a good way to earn extra money. A paper boy is always needed, as current delivery person's are just doing it to make extra money, or are just doing till they get out of high school, or college. That means job openings pop up a few times a year.

I've done this with the local classifieds for $43 per week, which I only had to deliver papers once a week. The problem however, was that my paper route was huge and was spread out in one big circle. I drove a 4 cylinder neon, and probably spent $20 in gas just delivering them. On top of that, you have to bag them when its raining, and rubber band them before you deliver them.

It was an extra $43 per week, but..for the gas and the time I had to deliver them, it wasn't worth it to me. If you want some extra spending money, and you find a small route that you can use a bicycle or something to run with, you might make some decent money.

Don't forget that you are not working for the company, you are seen as a "sub-contractor" and will have to do the taxes on your own at the end of the year. Keep track of your mileage, and keep receipts for everything related to the job.

#14 - Dog Walks

#14 - Dog Walks

Dog walking is something almost anyone can do! Some dog's can stay inside for days at a time, or outside in a cage. The owner's are busy with work, or they have too many things going on that they can't walk Fido for an hour!

Caring dog owner's will find and pay someone to walk their dog for them. This is where you come in! Post ads in the gas stations, knock on neighbor's doors, ask everyone on your facebook friend-list if they need their dog walked. You can schedule to walk their dog on certain days of the week, certain times, and set a time limit you will walk the dog for. Most people will walk a dog for 30-60 minutes, so its considered a real "walk."

The dog walker and the dog will both benefit from taking walks. You, the 'walker' will get the exercise you probably need anyways, and the dog will get the exercise and attention it needs. Its a win - win situation. If your lucky, you can walk neighbor's dogs and walk 4-5 of them at once! Just make sure they are friendly with each-other and don't bite each-other's heads off, or you...

If you like dogs, and you like to walk, then give it a try. If not..keep checking back for something that you might like! I post a new idea every other day. Subscribe and stay informed!

#13 - Pet Sitter

#13 - Pet Sitter

Are you passionate about animals? Maybe a pet sitter would be the perfect job for you!

Pet Sitting is the perfect money maker if you are interested in making an extra buck! Sometimes folks go on vacation, or a baby is being born..whatever it may be, they will need someone to watch their pet while they are gone. Fido can't be running free through the house, and feed or water themselves! Plus, all pets need attention, love, and caring from the pet owners.

Your competition will of course be the kennels, which is just a jail for your pets. They feed, water them, and get them out to be played for a few minutes, then its right back in the cage. This is the same argument you can use for your advertising. You will show the pet compassion, play with them along with their daily needs such as water and food. You can also beat the kennels prices, which would also make your business stand out from the rest.

Things you should know:

o Know your competition, and beat them

o Don't pet-sit too many pets. This would be unhealthy and probably against the law.

o Be sure to know of any illnesses the pet may have. You don't want to watch a pet that is about ready to die..wouldn't look good.

o Do your homework when pricing. What kind of food does this certain animal eat? How much food will you need? Any special diets?

Lots of things to consider. Do your homework! If you have done this, or are going to try it, I'd love to hear from you!
